In 2018 my first film opportunity arrived in the indie film A_B, directed by Zane Comer of NYC. The final scene for this project was filmed in Detroit at the Belle Isle Aquarium, which was built over 100 years ago. It was stunning, I was nervous, and the crew was incredible. I can honestly say that this experience is the reason I’m still pursuing a career in film.
All my life I have been surrounded by artists. Musical, theatrical, digital, visual, you name it - my parents and their peers probably had a hand in it. With the incredible influence and encouragement of my community, I began creating on my own at a young age. Currently, spray paint is my preferred medium. I have been working as a professional artist since 2018, from small hometown shows to large comic conventions across Michigan.
Growing up, I focused my energy on playing sports, mainly hockey. When I initially considered joining theatre, it was quite daunting due to being far outside my comfort zone, but I wanted to try. In 2017, my mother mentioned my interest to friends, and as theatre folk do, they welcomed me with open arms and found not one, but two roles for me in their current production. Since then I have been involved with over 13 theatre productions with 4 different theatres. Although I’ve taken a step back for film, I look forward to my next stage opportunity.
